What are the differences in metal carport roof styles?
VERTICAL CARPORTS
This style includes vertically installed roof panels that help to prevent dirt and other debris from building up on your roof.
BOXED EAVE CARPORTS
Similar in appearance as the more expensive Vertical roof however, the roof panels run horizontally. Because of the roof panels running horizontally then tend to collect more debris and will need more maintenance effort to keep clean.
REGULAR CARPORTS
Our horizontal panel regular roof carports are the most economical that you can buy to protect your car from the outdoors. With a curved roof style, they are simple, yet highly effective protection.

Do I need a permit to build a metal carport?
Yes, in most cases. Permit requirements vary from one municipality to the next, but many local governments require a building permit to install a carport. Building permit fees vary by location.
How long do metal carports last?
Our metal carports are durable and can last for dozens of years. Each of our American-made carports comes with a 10 or 20-year rust warranty and a one-year workmanship warranty.
What size carport do I need for a car? For two cars?
Metal carport sizes can be customized to your needs. To determine the right carport size, consider the following:
How large is your current vehicle?
Will you possibly purchase a larger vehicle in the future?
Do you need a single-car carport or a two-car carport?
Will your metal carport be large enough for an RV, boat or farm equipment?
A 12-foot-wide carport can fit a single car. For two cars, we recommend at least a 20-foot width but 22’ or 24’ will offer better protection to your vehicle when opening doors.

Don Tait is very well versed on what it takes to put in a building. One of the first thing he told me was to go to county zoning and see what they would let me do. Turns out in "rural residential" your outbuildings can be no larger than 50% of your air conditioned living space. (a window unit on my back porch saved me) I couldn't go above 1000 sq. ft. Don helped me fill out the permit applications in Carolina Carports name.. All in all it was a good experience in spite of dodging hurricanes and such. No problems dealing with Carolina Carport. Building is a good value for the money I spent.

Delivery times may vary depending on your location and current demand. However, generally we are able to deliver your metal building 2-8 weeks from the time of order.
Our certified carports, garages and other metal buildings are engineered to withstand a specific snow and/or wind load. You will need to check into the requirements for your area and purchase a metal building that meets those requirements. We service a broad area and the code requirements can change from city to county etc. Please check with your local government first to make sure you’re ordering a building that is appropriate for your area.

12 gauge carports come with a 20-year warranty against rust through on the frame, assuming normal care and maintenance and the 30-day limited workmanship warranty. There are no other warranties stated or implied. Additions, modifications, and alterations void all warranties.
